Needs assessment, methodology design and support for Boca Chica entrepreneurs – Dominican Republic

Client:the International Organization for Migration (IOM)

Mission:

As part of the project “Inclusive Cities, Communities of Solidarity”, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) asked Insuco, in partnership with the National Pedro Henríquez Ureña University, to identify, analyse and train entrepreneurs in Boca Chica.
The following objectives were achieved:
1. identification of the productive enterprises of Boca Chica initiated by the Venezuelan and Dominican population respectively,
2. Analysis of identified companies and identification of requirements,
3. Design and implementation of a training programme to strengthen the companies selected for support,
4. Individual counselling and support for businesses in the program.

Results:

To achieve these objectives, Insuco has implemented the following activities:
– Diagnosis of the needs of entrepreneurs in Boca Chica,
– Methodological design for business skills training, adapted to identified needs,
– Delivery of training and support to contractors involved in the project,
– Organization of a fair for the presentation and exhibition of companies.
