Development of recommendations and activities to strengthen gender equality in the implementation of a regional mangrove protection and restoration project in the member countries of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS)
Mission:
Biodiversity consultancy Biotope was commissioned by Agence Française de Développement (AFD) to draw up a comprehensive project proposal for the restoration and protection of mangroves in the OECS member states, with OECS being the selected executing agency for the project. The project has been designed to align with the Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) objectives of the Global Environment Facility (GEF), with the idea of obtaining funding from the French Global Environment Facility (FFEM).
As part of this mandate, AFD requested that a cross-cutting gender approach be integrated into the development of the project. Insuco was subcontracted to develop gender recommendations for the implementation phase and specific activities to be included in the project’s logical framework.
Results:
Insuco has provided the following services:
– Interviews with key people from the OECO and Biotope teams
– Production of gender-specific recommendations and activities in line with the project’s logical framework.
Insuco submitted a proposal for activities and recommendations dedicated to gender and aligned with the project’s logical framework (Deliverable 1).
