Mission

Under the supervision of the Technical Director, the Project Manager will be responsible for monitoring the commercial aspects of invitations to tender, contributing to the administrative preparation (collection of administrative documents and references) of commercial dossiers and the logistical preparation of project implementation.

Localisation

The position is based in Djibouti, with the possibility of travel within and outside the country.

Duties and activities

The Project Manager divides his/her time between the following activities:

1. Sales promotion and development

You will be responsible for drawing up offers, participating in their technical and financial set-up and mobilising the associated expertise, in liaison with the other departments.
You will also be responsible for monitoring the market in order to identify offers in line with Insuco’s business lines and strategy, as well as potential partners and customers.

2. Coordination / Project management

You will be involved in the planning and management of certain studies and projects:
Sizing and mobilising resources (national/international and support functions);
Organising the fieldwork: identifying needs, defining schedules, coordinating with the logistics manager, etc. ;
Manage the study: operational monitoring of the assignment, adherence to schedules and budgets, quality control of deliverables, customer satisfaction.
As your skills develop, you may be asked to manage an entire assignment, liaise with the customer and take part in presenting the results of the studies.

3. Communication, strategy and corporate projects

More generally, you will play a full part in the life of the company and the development of its business.
You will be involved in promoting Insuco’s activities from time to time: updating our project references, helping to update the website, writing technical content, etc. You will also be involved in various structural projects, such as developing our CV/Expertise tool and consolidating our know-how and methodologies.

    Required Profile

    Education

    • 5 years’ higher education in the social sciences, economics, agronomy or the environment.

    Experience

    • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role
    • Experience in responding to calls for tender and managing/coordinating projects;
    • Knowledge of the issues and international standards relating to Social Impact Assessments, knowledge of the principles of Resettlement Action Plans, one or more years’ experience in developing countries and in a consultancy would be additional assets.

    Skills

    • Excellent writing skills (drafting, analysis and revision of tenders, technical and strategic documents);
    • Very good command of written and spoken French and English;
    • Fluency in Somali and/or Afar and/or Arabic would be greatly appreciated;
    • Proficiency in office automation and IT tools in general is essential;

    Soft Skills

    • You have a keen interest in human development issues and would like to acquire or consolidate your international experience.
    • You want to get involved in stimulating projects within a multicultural and dynamic company, in a multi-skilled position that will provide a great deal of training for the launch and continuation of your career.
    • Your motivation, availability, flexibility and great capacity for work will be key to working in a design office and responding to emergency situations.

    • A taste for working in a small team, autonomy and good interpersonal skills.
