Project Manager Cambodia

Mission

The Project Manager works under the supervision of the Technical Director to coordinate projects and contribute to business development.

Localisation

Position based in Phnom Penh, with travel possibilities within and outside the country.

Role and activities

The Project Manager will spend his/her time on the following activities:

1. Project Coordination / Management (50%):

  • Planning and execution of specific studies and projects.
  • Resource allocation and mobilization (national, international and support functions).
  • Field operations including needs identification, schedules definition, logistics coordination, etc.
  • Supervision of the study including operational mission oversight, compliance with schedules and budgets, quality control of deliverables and client satisfaction.
  • Depending on your skills and experience, you may also lead entire projects, manage client relationships and participate in the presentation of study results.

2. Business Development (40%):

  • Prepare responses to expressions of interest and requests for proposals (technical & financial proposals, mobilizing experts in coordination with other departments).
  • Conduct market research to identify offers aligned with Insuco’s areas of expertise, strategy and potential partners and clients.

3. Communication, Strategy and Internal Projects (10%):

  • Contribute to the company’s operations and development. This may involve activities such as updating project references, participating in website updates, producing technical content and contributing to various strategic initiatives such as Knowledge capitalization

Required Profile

Training:

  • Minimum master’s degree in social sciences, economics, agronomy, or environmental studies

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Experience in responding to RFPs and in project coordination.
  • Knowledge of international standards and issues related to Social Impact Studies and Principles of Action for Resettlement.
  • Experience in developing countries and in consulting firms are additional assets.

Hard Skills

  • Excellent writing skills (drafting, analysis, review of proposals, technical and strategic documents) are required.
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both oral and written, is essential.
  • Proficiency in French is desirable.
  • Proficiency in office suites and computer tools is essential.

Soft skills

  • Strong interest in human development issues and a desire to gain or strengthen international experience.
  • Willingness to engage in stimulating projects within a multicultural and dynamic company.
  • Self-motivated, available, flexible, with a strong work ethic and able to respond effectively to complex and evolving situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high level of rigor will be keys to success, as well as teamwork & interpersonal skills.
