Implementation of a multi-stakeholder inter-learning platform for managing development indicator monitoring tools in mining regions of Latin America for the MINSUS Project, in partnership with GIZ

Mission:
The mission consisted of designing and facilitating a dynamic inter-learning platform for technical experts and decision-makers within the mining sector. Insuco’s specialized team, led by a Regional Expert and a Project Coordinator, executed a three-phase approach over five months to ensure comprehensive results.
First, we conducted an exploratory review that identified active initiatives and organizations leading indicator development in the region. This phase included secondary source analysis and exploratory interviews to map the existing landscape. Second, we developed an initial framework by identifying core challenges and proposing an inter-learning dynamic, which was validated through focus groups with key actors. Finally, we implemented the virtual spaces, managing the call for participants and moderating the sessions to generate shared knowledge products.
Results:
Our team delivered the following strategic results:
- A preliminary state-of-the-art report detailing regional monitoring initiatives and a work plan for implementation.
- A comprehensive activity report and a “memory of spaces” document systematizing all regional experiences.
- The formalization of a specialized exchange group to maintain the community of practice.
The mission applied international standards of multi-stakeholder engagement, ensuring that the resulting tools were not only technically sound but also socially legitimate among the participating organizations. All activities were closely coordinated with the MINSUS Project and GIZ to align with regional sustainability goals.
