Mission:

The project consisted of advising EPM Guatemala and its five subsidiaries in the implementation of a 360 Human Rights analysis, based on international standards such as the UN Guiding Principles and OECD guidelines. A participatory and territorial approach was applied to identify risks, analyze regulatory gaps and formulate an action plan, strengthening corporate due diligence and the contribution to the SDGs.

Results:

  • Human Rights risk and impact analysis document for each of the companies involved, including actual and potential risks, with a territorial, differential and gender focus.
  • Gap analysis against the main international standards of human rights due diligence (UN Guiding Principles, OECD, IFC, ILO), applied to the contexts and operations of EEGSA, TRELEC and subsidiaries.
  • Action plan per company with proposed mitigation measures, institutional responsible parties, indicators and schedule oriented to the management and monitoring of identified risks.
  • Validated methodological tools for participatory risk identification, including guides for workshops, interviews and surveys, adapted to the Guatemalan territorial context.
  • Systematization of participatory exercises developed with stakeholders (communities, workers, contractors, authorities, clients, etc.), documenting perceptions, concerns and recommendations regarding human rights impacts.
  • Final technical report of the 360° HR analysis, structured by methodological phases and including the inputs obtained during the development of the project (diagnosis, normative analysis, participatory results, gaps and action plan).
  • Executive presentation and socialization of results before the management team of EPM Guatemala, as part of the technical closure of the process.
