Assessment and capitalisation study regarding the support programmes to the mangrove rice sector, and feasibility study for a new rice programme in Low Guinea
Client : Institute for research and application of development methods (Iram), financed by the French Development Agency (AFD)
Mission:
This project is part of a larger evaluation study about the Low Guinea Rice programme, funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), that consists in growing rice directly in the mangrove. Within this assessment study, Insuco was in charge of producing data on the project itself (functioning and productivity of the rice crates, gender issues) through data collection on the field, and of analysing the impacts of the installation of rice crates on land tenure dynamics.
Results:
The following deliverables were provided to the client:
- A report containing information on rice crate functioning
- A report containing information on productivity and gender
- A report focusing on the impacts that the creation of rice crates has on local land dynamics
