Finalisation of the monitoring-evaluation system and implementation of a socio-economic and satisfaction survey for solid waste management in Conakry and Kindia cities, in the context of SANITA and ANASP Programmes

Client : Enabel

Mission:

In the context of SANITA programme and of the strategy developed by ANASP aimed at professionalising the actors of the waste management system, Insuco was mandated to finalise the monitoring and evaluation systems of these two programmes, and to implement a socio-economic and satisfaction survey among households in the six targeted municipalities (Conakry city and Kindia municipality).
This project thus began with a scoping mission, in order to consult the different stakeholders and gather all available information on solid waste management. This first step allowed, on the one hand, to better understand the client’s needs in terms of monitoring and evaluation and, on the other hand, to develop tools adapted to the systems (metadata sheets, collection tools and databases). In a second step, a socio-economic and satisfaction survey was conducted among the six targeted municipalities to provide an initial report and reference bases for the monitoring and evaluation of SANITA and ANASP programmes.

Results:

The following deliverables were produced:

  • A methodological framework note
  • An inception report that includes a literature review of comparable surveys
  • A report specifying the mechanism of the strategy for professionalising the solid waste management sector in Conakry on the one hand, and the SANITA programme on the other hand
  • Reports with the analysis of quantitative data by municipality on the one hand, and qualitative data on the other hand, that include a comparison with similar existing data
