Contribution to the “Mines and Communities” Guidebook
Client : American Bar Association – Rule of Law Initiative
Mission:
The project consisted in building a practical guide entitled “Mines and Communities”, aiming to promote the development focused on human rights in the mining industry context of Guinea. This guide is meant to establish a clear understanding of the rights and obligations for the local populations, mining societies and public authorities in the mining industry sector. It also had to propose strategies and tools in order to allow the creation of dedicated spaces for negotiation and compromise.
This project was part of the ABA ROLI mission to reinforce the Rule of Law in Guinea Republic, to increase access to justice for marginalized people, to strengthen judicial systems and to promote human rights.
Results:
Insuco oversaw the drafting of 11 components, as well as their illustration using a comic strip.
