Review, redevelopment, and implementation of the long-running multi-stakeholder dialogue process for the Fruta del Norte Mine
Mission:
Insuco has accompanied the institutionalization of a multi-stakeholder dialogue process in the territory of Los Encuentros, an Amazonian parish with a large-scale mining industry presence, since 2016. The dialogue has allowed progress in the articulation of key actors and the strengthening of territorial governance, through the consolidation of relationships with communities, local authorities and other relevant sectors promoting a collaborative environment for the sustainable development of the territory. The objective for 2025 is to consolidate the process of inclusive and sustainable territorial governance in the territory by strengthening multi-stakeholder dialogue mechanisms that guarantee the effective participation of key stakeholders and promote the equitable and sustainable development of Los Encuentros. The long-term goal of Insuco’s accompaniment is to create an inclusive and sustainable territorial governance system that involves all stakeholders in the territory in decision-making and in the implementation of development projects.
Results:
The project is articulated around the following components:
- Strengthen the capacity of the Decentralized Autonomous Government of Los Encuentros Rural Parish (GADPRLE) by incorporating the principles of public management and its leadership in the multi-stakeholder dialogue spaces called Management and Development Spaces (EGD);
- Empower existing local leaders and promote youth participation in governance processes to ensure long-term sustainability of leadership;
- Optimize and structure multi-stakeholder dialogue practices with inclusion, transparency and sustainability;
- Establish collaborations with international organizations to expand the resources and impact of projects in the territory through strategic alliances.
