Technical assistance for the supervision, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the local business development and employment platform for Minera Las Bambas in Apurímac, Peru

Mission:
Insuco provided specialized technical assistance to Minera Las Bambas to supervise and monitor its “Local Business and Employment Development System.” Our mission focused on ensuring the integrity of social KPIs within a virtual platform designed to manage local contractors and promote territorial value. By bridging the gap between corporate requirements and local capacities, Insuco enhanced the transparency and efficiency of the mine’s local development strategy.
Results:
Insuco deployed a multidisciplinary team of 15 experts to implement a comprehensive monitoring and support strategy over a 24-month period. The mission was structured around the following key activities and deliverables:
- System Characterization and Diagnostics: We conducted a thorough analysis of the local supply chain and evaluated the existing capabilities of the digital system to identify critical points and areas for improvement.
- KPI Management and Validation: Our team provided constant follow-up on the KPIs uploaded by contractors, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with MLB’s social commitments.
- User Support and Capacity Building: We managed the Permanent Attention Office for Companies and Local Employment (OPE), providing direct assistance, training, and technical support to platform users to foster a reliable user experience.
- Strategic Reporting: We produced periodic gap analysis reports, risk assessments, and a final territorial analysis based on system data to guide decision-making.
- Adaptive Management: Based on field findings, we adjusted work plans and KPI structures to better reflect the territorial reality and mining operations.
The mission successfully integrated the first three modules of the platform and prepared the ground for future integrations, ensuring that the system serves as a transparent bridge between the mine and local businesses.
