Recent and ongoing projects

Mission:

The Karidja Project is a public-private partnership which aims to restore 70,000 hectares of forest in the Haut-Sassandra Agro Forest which is largely occupied by cocoa farmers. This project aims to comply with IFC and Verra standards. In this context the Project needs to obtain the Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) of local populations for the implementation of the Project.

Insuco has been mandated to provide methodological support to Agromap, aDryada’s local partner, for the implementation of the FPIC process and to verify the process’s compliance with international standards. To carry out this assignment, Insuco engaged an international expert specialising in social safeguards and natural resource management.

Results:

Insuco provided methodological guidelines, operational templates, as well as training and practical support to Agromap’s teams to ensure the success of this process. This assignment enabled Agromap to develop skills and to complete the first phase of obtaining the project’s FPIC. Feedback and recommendations for subsequent phases were also provided.

Extra miles

Insuco has developed an intervention methodology, tools and a capacity-building plan tailored to the realities on the ground and the needs of the stakeholders. Following a phase of theoretical training, Insuco was able to support Agromap’s teams in the field with practical training and a fine-tuning of the methodology and tools. Following Agromap’s successful completion of the FPIC process, Insuco carried out a critical review of the activities undertaken by Agromap and the documentation produced, in order to provide feedback and recommendations for subsequent phases with a view to continuous improvement.
