Gap analysis, Environmental and Social Action Plan and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for the Kiniero Gold Mine Project
Client : ABS Africa on behalf of Sycamore Mining LTD
Mission:
After several years of mining shutdown, Sycamore resumed mining at the Kiniero gold mine. The mission consisted in carrying out a gap analysis of the former Environmental and Social Impact Studies (ESIA) with current national and international standards, as well as proposing a social action plan, in anticipation of conducting a full ESIA.
Insuco was therefore commissioned to first produce the gap analysis and a social action plan, and then to conduct a full ESIA, including a baseline study, an impact assessment, and several corresponding management plans.
Results:
The following deliverables were provided to the client:
- A gap analysis report;
- A social action plan including an initial context study;
- Terms of reference for the conduct of a full ESIA;
- A full ESIA.
