Final external evaluation of the maternal and neonatal health project “Strengthening the profession and practice of midwifery to save the lives of women, girls and newborns in Haiti” implemented over the period 2018-2023

Mission:

With the end of the project approaching – June 2023 – UNFPA commissioned Insuco to carry out a final external evaluation of its project according to the criteria of the Development Assistance Committee of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), gender equality, governance, results-based management and environmental sustainability.

Results:

Insuco provided the following services:

– Document review ;
– Structuring collection tools for data collection;
– Conducting data collection in the field; 
– Data analysis and synthesis into a final evaluation report.

Insuco submitted the following deliverables:

– Evaluation design report; 
– Interim Evaluation Report;
– Final evaluation report.

The health project “Strengthening the profession and practice of midwifery to save the lives of women, girls and newborns in Haiti” was implemented by UNFPA Haiti, with funding from Global Affairs Canada, for a period of five (5) years in four (4) departments (Nord-Ouest, Grande Anse, Les Nippes, Sud-Est) and Port-au-Prince. The project aims to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality by strengthening the profession and training of midwives in Haiti, while deploying new recruits trained in the project departments.
