Mission:

The objective of the Ziama Biosphere Reserve (RBZ) Conservation and Management Project, financed by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), is to contribute to the reduction of the climatic vulnerability of the ecosystems of Forest Guinea and the Ziama – Wonegizi – Wologizi (ZWW) Transboundary Landscape through the conservation of biological diversity, landscapes, and the sustainable and participatory management of natural resources in the Ziama Biosphere Reserve.

The specific objective of the project is the implementation of the RPZ Development and Management Plan, with the participation and benefit of its riparian communities, particularly women, with a focus on the resilience of ecosystems and populations to the impacts of climate change.

As part of the vulnerability and feasibility studies of the Project, Insuco was mandated by Suez Consulting to carry out a complementary study for the finalization of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP).

Results:

The following deliverables were provided to the client:

  • An Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) report including a Social Baseline Study ;
  • An updated Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) ;
  • A Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) ;
  • A summary analysis of the capacity of the Owner.
