Support for the production of an environmental and social baseline study for a renewable energy and green hydrogen project in Djibouti
Client: Environmental Resources Management (ERM) Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd
Mission:
ERM was commissioned to undertake an E&S constraints mapping and ESIA study for CWP Global Djibouti’s “PtX Project”. This project involves developing 10GW of renewable energy and a hydrogen/green ammonia production centre. The CWP needs a high-level environmental and social (E&S) baseline study, based on existing public data, to identify E&S constraints and development opportunities. ERM commissioned Insuco to support it in collecting and analysing legislative and institutional data.
Results:
Insuco carried out the following assignments:
- Carrying out a review of the permits for the various components of the project (wind, solar, transmission, production and export facilities): analysing national and international legislation for the various components of the project and identifying problems in existing permits.
- Prepare a list of the main stakeholders (name of entity, internal contact, role) that the Client will need to engage and contact as part of the project.
