Management of the project “Development and sustainable agricultural valorisation of lowland areas and small flood plains in West Africa”: analysis and proposal of social and technical engineering methods for the development and valorisation of lowland areas and flood plains for the Scientific and Technical Committee on Agricultural Water (COSTEA)

Mission:
The mission consisted in proposing new procedures for the design or redesign of lowlands based on a systemic, multidisciplinary and participatory approach. To this end, diagnostic methods were tested on case studies in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, their operationality was assessed and a systematisation of these methods was proposed. This study was conducted in partnership with CIRAD and IRD. Insuco was in charge of the social engineering component as well as the country coordination of activities in Niger.
Results:
The following deliverables were provided to the client:
- An Inception Report
- A Diagnostic Report
- A report on the operational plan of the lowland management procedures;
- A Synthesis and Recommendations Report.
