Client: Électricite de France S.A. (EDF)
Region / Country: Colombia
Sectors: Energy

Mission:

In order to ensure strict compliance with current national regulations and contribute to the sustainability of the Vilma and Andaki hydroelectric projects in the department of Caquetá, an intervention methodology and community participation processes are being implemented that respect and safeguard the rights of the communities, in line with and incorporating international best practice.
In this sense, it is necessary to generate a Relationship Plan for the direction, strategic planning, monitoring and follow-up of the social management of the project. The purpose of the above is to promote ethical and meaningful relationships, safeguarding the relationship based on an understanding of the context and the various concerns, expectations and potentials of the stakeholders with spaces for participation that are culturally appropriate to the social, political, economic and environmental reality of the department of Caquetá.

Results:

The project revolves around the composition of a strategic framework for the relationship based on 9 lines of work for which Insuco has assumed responsibility for developing key documents that will serve as a strategic guide for the relationship, physical assurance and monitoring of the project, adopting a technical perspective that emphasises territorial development and social dialogue. In this sense, the main objective was to develop plans and protocols that were adapted to local realities and met the requirements of the project in its initial phase.

Insuco supplied the following products which were framed within the 9 lines of work: (i) Stakeholder participation plan ; (ii) Procedure for handling requests, complaints and claims ; (iii) Communication plan ; (iv) Procedure for contracting the workforce ; (v) Procedure for the acquisition of goods and services ; (vi) Procedure for identifying and managing risks and impacts ; (vii) Land use compensation procedure ; (viii) Safety plan ; (ix) Project monitoring and management procedure.
