Recent and ongoing projects

Mission:

The purpose of the mission was to assess the capacity and willingness to pay of target beneficiaries for a new and improved water supply and sanitation service, to be financed by the French Development Agency (AFD) and provided by the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) in 6 localities (Isingiro, Kabuyanda, Ruborogota, Endizi, Rushasha and Ngarama). To this end, Insuco conducted a survey of 200 households, to collect data related to the socio-economic profile of households, and to the availability, uses and quality of water sources. Particular attention was paid to gender issues in the analysis of the survey data.

Results:

The following deliverables were provided to the client:

• The survey questionnaire
• A study report presenting: the context, the survey methodology, the socio-economic profile of the beneficiaries targeted by the project, the level of access to water of the beneficiary households (sources, uses, satisfaction with quality/availability/price), the capacity and willingness to pay of the households for the new water access service proposed by the Isingiro project, an analysis of the profitability of the project
