Technical assistance on resettlement (IFC PS5 and AfDB OS5) to finalize the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) for the 42 MW(AC) photovoltaic power plant of Sokodé Energie in Togo

Mission:
The mission involved providing technical assistance to Sokodé Energie during the finalization of the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP), required to secure financing for the 42 MW(AC) photovoltaic power plant project in Salimdè. The support specifically focused on resettlement management in line with IFC Performance Standard 5 (PS5) and AfDB Operational Safeguard 5 (OS5). This included participation in technical discussions with lenders, review of existing environmental and social documentation, and preparation of responses to comments from MIGA and international financial institutions.
Results:
The following deliverables were submitted to the client:
- Technical inputs related to resettlement issues for the finalization of the lenders’ ESAP
- Contextualized responses to the Ibis report and MIGA feedback
- Active participation in technical meetings with AfDB, Proparco, and MIGA
