In July, Insuco’s Asia-Pacific and Middle East & Central Asia teams convened in Phnom Penh for their first intensive and inspiring regional seminar.
The gathering underscored Insuco’s commitment to its intercultural DNA. With the team comprising 14 people from 8 nationalities, the event was crucial for aligning the diverse group. The seminar was perfectly timed, especially with new colleagues joining, providing a vital opportunity to connect and unify the team under a common corporate language while remaining deeply rooted in local cultures across the region.
The primary objective extended beyond internal alignment; it focused on strengthening relationships among colleagues. Social activities, including a Mekong River cruise, a Phnom Penh heritage tour, and a visit to Silk Island, helped foster stronger professional bonds and offered valuable insights into Cambodian culture.
The working agenda for the week was rich and demanding, covering several critical areas of expertise:
- Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Training: Focused on refining the core methodologies of Insuco’s work.
- Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) Training: Addressed best practices and unique challenges within this specialised area.
- Peer-to-Peer Exchanges: Dedicated sessions aimed at building stronger operational bridges, particularly between the Riyadh and Phnom Penh teams.
- Best Practice Reflection: Various sessions focused on shared learning and tackling day-to-day work challenges.
The seminar successfully combined intensive learning, connection, and renewed energy, setting a powerful direction for the regional teams moving forward.
