Mission:

Insuco provided comprehensive social management and community relations services for Pecoy Copper’s exploration project in Arequipa, Peru. Our mission was to strengthen social management and maintain the project’s social license through structured, preventive planning. By implementing international standards and local engagement strategies, we supported the client in navigating a complex highland territory while ensuring operational continuity and positive community relations.

Results:

 Key activities included:

• Diagnosis and Planning: Elaborated an Executive Technical Report on Territorial Diagnosis, including socioeconomic characterization, stakeholder mapping, and risk analysis.
• Field Implementation: Facilitated continuous community relations, providing on-the-ground support for exploration activities and stakeholder engagement.
• Management Systems: Launched a Commitments and Grievance Management System with traceable databases and early warning mechanisms.
• Governance and Reporting: Established a monitoring and governance structure through weekly coordination meetings, monthly activity reports, and bi-monthly internal alignment workshops.
• Strategic Evaluation: Produced semi-annual progress reports and an annual balance report with strategic recommendations for project continuity.

The team comprised nine specialists, including a project director, field coordinators, and experts in communications, GIS, and fund leveraging.
