Recent and ongoing projects

Mission:

Insuco was subcontracted by MCRIT to lead the social, environmental, and participatory analysis of the Urban Mobility Plan (PMU). The mission consisted of providing comprehensive technical and administrative assistance to the ATU throughout the plan’s elaboration. We focused on four main pillars: strengthening management instruments, aligning work approaches with sustainable transport benchmarks, building the technical capacity of the ATU team, and capitalizing on local best practices.

Our team, composed of experts in citizen participation, social communication, and project coordination, performed the following activities:

• Conducted systematic alignment meetings with both the ATU and the primary PMU consulting team to ensure consistency in social and environmental objectives.
• Performed exhaustive information analysis and technical review of all project deliverables.
• Developed specific recommendations to integrate a holistic and inclusive perspective into the transportation strategy.
• Produced technical deliverables focused on social impact and stakeholder engagement.
• Facilitated the integration of gender-differentiated mobility needs and accessibility standards for vulnerable populations.

Results:

The work ensured that the PMU transitioned from a purely technical infrastructure document to a strategic territorial tool. By providing constant monitoring and management support, Insuco helped mitigate potential social risks and ensured that the participation process was meaningful and representative of the metropolitan area’s diverse population. The mission concluded in Nov 2024, delivering a framework that allows Lima and Callao to move toward a more competitive and attractive urban environment through efficient, low-emission passenger and freight transport.
