Comprehensive social study for the identification and evaluation of risks and impacts associated with the construction and operation of the TSF 2 – LB Stage 2 tailings facility

Client: Las Bambas (MMG)

Mission:

Insuco provided technical assistance through a four-stage methodology to evaluate social viability. The team performed internal alignment and a comprehensive secondary data review to characterize preliminary risks. We then deployed a qualitative field investigation involving key stakeholders to capture expectations and concerns. The mission focused on identifying social and water-related risks associated with the TSF-2 footprint, evaluating the communities’ predisposition toward resettlement, and validating baseline socioeconomic data for those potentially displaced. Our experts conducted stakeholder mapping and impact valuation, ensuring the process met IFC standards.
