Mission:

As part of this technical assistance project, Insuco’s mission is to support financial institutions, particularly the Development Bank of Ecuador (BDE), in establishing, strengthening and standardising policies and procedures that integrate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria into their operations. In addition, the project aims to enhance staff capabilities through training and awareness-raising activities. The project is structured around the following components: strengthening the capacities of cities in managing the environmental and social impacts of climate change-related projects; assessing at least ten identified projects and supporting the development of their ESG frameworks; building the capacities of municipalities to integrate ESG criteria into their operations; systematising and structuring the knowledge and information generated through advisory services; and formulating recommendations aimed at strengthening the technical and regulatory framework.

Results:

The technical assistance provided by Insuco added significant value by delivering tailored support to financial institutions and municipalities in the adoption of international standards, thereby ensuring that each assessed project not only complied with regulatory requirements but also incorporated innovative practices in social inclusion and gender equality.
