Capacity building of the Geed Deeble Village Development Committee on environmental and social risks related to the Lasdhure aquifer production increase project
Mission:
In 2018, the Somaliland Development Fund (SDF) launched its second implementation phase (SDF II), aimed at supporting the Government of Somaliland in delivering infrastructure to stimulate economic development.
Under SDF II, Insuco was engaged by the client in 2019 to undertake a scoping report for a project to increase water production from the Lasdhure aquifer and connect it to the existing system.
Insuco subsequently delivered a training programme whose primary objective was to strengthen the skills and capacities of the Geed Deeble Village Development Committee in managing the environmental and social risks associated with the Lasdhure aquifer production increase project
Results:
The mission consisted of delivering a three-day training programme to the Geed Deeble Village Development Committee on the implementation of assessments and the management of the Project’s environmental and social risks.
