Update of the environmental and social analysis to reduce the physical footprint of a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Project (Phase 3 – Design)
Mission:
TotalEnergies’ Papua LNG project in Papua New Guinea is designed to produce from two gas fields. The gas produced from these two fields will be transported via an offshore pipeline and liquefied in a plant. TotalEnergies has decided to reduce the footprint of its LNG Project in Papua New Guinea to minimise its environmental and social impacts. As a result, TotalEnergies would like to take stock of its efforts to avoid / minimise / reduce its negative impacts.
Results:
Insuco, in collaboration with Oryx-Expertise, provided the following services:
– Documentation review and data analysis
– Comparison between the footprint of the project design from 2022 and updates from 2025
Insuco submitted a report including:
– Register of footprint reduction actions
– Multicriteria analysis and synthesis
– Footprint optimisation assessment
– Additional recommendations
