Environmental and Social audit of Da Khai Dam Project and Tan Phu Dong Wind Project for Proparco - Vietnam
Mission:
The Da Khai Hydropower was built between 2005 and 2009 by Cienco 4 in Lam Dong Province, Vietnam. The plant has a capacity of 8.1 MW and required the acquisition of approximately 280 hectares of land. The Tan Phu Dong (TPD 1) Wind Power Plant Project is an offshore wind energy project located offshore from Phu Tan commune, of Tan Phu Dong district. TPD1 is part of the global offshore wind energy project Tan Phu Dong Wind Power Project encompassing the two adjacent projects TPD1 and TPD2. The Project site encompasses two areas for offshore and also onshore components.
Proparco was considering a potential investment in these two projects, and they mandated Insuco to carry out an E&S audit of the Project’s documents against the IFC Performance Standards, and Proparco’s Exclusion list, to identify any gap of conformity and estimate of the information required (data, plans, studies, etc.) to produce a satisfactory ESDD and ESAP.
Results:
The following deliverables were given to the client:
A preliminary E&S audit presenting the identified gaps of conformity, and listing the required information to carry out an Environmental and Social Due Diligence
