The Government of Benin has requested AFD’s support for the financing of the “Reinventing the Lake City of Ganvi\u00e9” project which aims to improve the living conditions of its inhabitants and encourage the development and diversification of resources from Lake Nokou\u00e9. At the same time, it will be necessary to strengthen the institutions and beneficiaries to conduct this type of integrated urban project.<\/p>\n

The present mandate concerns the sub-project for the creation of a Drinking Water Supply System (SAEP) linking Abomey-Calavi to Ganvi\u00e9 1 and Ganvi\u00e9 2. AFD wishes to complete the results of the environmental and social impact study conducted by ANAEPMR as part of its action program in order to frame the E&S impacts that may result from the installation work and the operation and maintenance of the SAEP.<\/p>\n

The objective is to complete the existing environmental and social impact study (and its associated environmental and social management plan) so that it meets national requirements and those of AFD’s environmental and social risk management policy (which corresponds to the standards of the World Bank’s environmental and social management framework).<\/p>\n
