custom_padding=&#8221;|||||&#8221; header_2_font_size_last_edited=&#8221;on|phone&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The La Granja Social Fund (LGSF) has been created as part of a Private Investment Agreement signed between Rio Tinto and the Peruvian State in 2008, with the objective of financing and executing social projects to benefit the population settled in the area of influence of the La Granja Mining Project (District of Querocoto, Province of Chota, Cajamarca). Rio Tinto is currently evaluating the future of the La Granja Mining Project, which will be handed over to the State or to another company for exploitation. In this context and considering the social value of the LGSF, Rio Tinto identified the need to establish a plan to consolidate the fund, which will allow for the strengthening of its governance system, as well as its administrative and projects management.
