The growth of Gran Tierra Energy Colombia and its newly acquired subsidiaries, as well as the structural changes in Colombia and more generally in the oil sector, implied to develop a unified corporate social investment protocol. Gran Tierra Energy solicited Insuco to implement such services.<\/p>\n

Insuco developed a methodology in four main steps:<\/p>\n

  • Revision of social investment standards and good practices at national and international levels, as well as Gran Tierra Energy internal processes<\/li>\n
  • Focus groups and interviews with internal and external stakeholders to better understand their vision, expectations and identify limits regarding the company social investment practices, as well as complementary interviews with extractive and energy companies to identify best practices<\/li>\n
  • Field survey to analyse the company social investment practices<\/li>\n
  • From the lessons learnt during the previous phases, design of a social investment protocol, together with Gran Tierra Energy Social Management Team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
