{"id":58482,"date":"2025-07-12T01:35:07","date_gmt":"2025-07-11T23:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.insuco.com\/?p=58482"},"modified":"2025-11-14T13:50:34","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T12:50:34","slug":"responsible-closure-territorial-value","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.insuco.com\/en\/responsible-closure-territorial-value\/","title":{"rendered":"Responsible Closure: From End-of-Project to Long-Term Territorial Value"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Guillen Calvo, Insuco General Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, and Arianna Espinosa Oliver, our Regional Director for Colombia, Mexico, and Central America, were recently honoured to co-host a dialogue on responsible closures and exits of extractive industry projects<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, alongside Centro Regional de Empresas y Emprendimientos Responsables (CREER) and the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event was an enriching day of reflection on valuable experiences, addressing the challenges and opportunities inherent in these processes. Insights were shared by colleagues from various organisations, including the Institute for Human Rights and Business, The University of Queensland, the Ford Foundation, and the Natural Resource Governance Institute.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The conversation highlighted how each phase of an extractive project\u2014from exploration to closure\u2014generates different forms of relationship between companies, the State, and communities.
