Mission:
On the basis of a rapid baseline assessment, provide the client with an overview of the organisation of artisanal mining in its permit area and identify the main issues arising from the co-existence of an industrial mine and artisanal practices.
Results:
The client received a report mapping the different stakeholders in the sector organised into categories and showing the links between them and the local authorities. A set of recommendations for implementing a plan for engagement between the client and the artisanal miners was presented.
